Day 01: Arrival in Leh
Flights landing at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport offer immediate views of the snow-covered Ladakh Range. Local representatives greet travelers at the terminal and transfer them directly to the hotel in Leh.
The dramatic altitude shift requires strict physical rest for the remaining daylight hours. Drinking warm water and relaxing indoors helps the body adapt to the thin atmosphere.
In the late afternoon, travelers take a slow walk through the local Leh Market to stretch their legs. The bustling streets host Ladakhi artisans, traditional bakers, and shops selling cashmere shawls. Early evening resting ensures total recovery and prepares everyone for the mountain journeys ahead.
Day 02: Excursion to Sham Valley
Post breakfast, we proceed to the west side of the Indus Valley, visiting the Hall of Fame (Museum), Kali Mata Mandir, Patthar Shab (Gurudwara), Magnetic Hill, Sangam (Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers), and from here we will drive further to Alchi Monastery.
Alchi monastery is popularly known as Alchi Choskor and is one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh. Alchi village itself is also a very beautiful village. After Alchi, we will proceed towards Likir & then to Lamayuru. It is also called the Moon Land. Geologists studied Lamayuru and found that it was underwater centuries ago.
The landscape in this area of Ladakh is very different. We will visit Lamayuru monastery & then head back to Leh. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 03: Leh to Nubra Valley
Following an early breakfast, we head back to Nubra Valley via Khardongla Pass (18390 ft), the world’s highest pass open to motor vehicles, some 39 km from Leh. Nubra Valley is also a place of flowers and is popularly named as Ldumra (Valley of flowers).
It lies between Karakoram Range and Ladakh Range of the Himalayas to the North of Ladakh. On the way, we will visit Deskit Monastery situated on a hill overlooking the entire Nubra Valley, and see the biggest Maitreya Buddha statue below the Monastery and later drive to the dunes to enjoy a camel safari (Optional). Day 04: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok
From breakfast, we will head straight to Pangong Lake on either the Shayok or Wari La. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). The river is long, narrow and of inland drainage, barely six to seven kilometers wide and more than 130km long, it is cut by the international border line between India and China.
A few years back, the government decided to open it to tourists, though the lake and its surroundings are under army surveillance. Take in the scenery from the background of the Lake.
It is hard to find a scene so close to nature and to the environment and one could never forget the view. Overnight accommodation at Pangong Lake.
Day 05: Pangong Lake to Leh
The early birds spot the golden light of the morning shining on the calm waters of Pangong Lake. In the morning, the car heads back along the shores of the lake and starts an ascent to Chang La, another popular high pass. Steep switchbacks offer contrasts in grazing yaks and high alpine meadows.
Chang La pass leads back into the Indus Valley in the center. Along the way, they pass by the twelve-storey high Thiksey Monastery, which is similar to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. The drive ends in Leh, where you can buy any last minute souvenirs at the town market.
Day 06: Departure from Leh (Fly Out)
