For the Pikey Peak Trek, the TIMS card is currently optional, especially if you are trekking in the Solu region without entering national park zones like Sagarmatha.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (1,400m ) and transfer to the hotel for check-in and rest.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, our friendly team from Himalayan Gateway Trek will be there to greet you with a warm welcome and take you to your hotel.
Once you arrive, you’ll receive a warm welcome, with staff presenting you with traditional flower garlands. They will assist you with the check-in process and make sure you’re comfortable. Afterward, you can relax and get ready for your adventure the next day. In the evening, walk around Thamel and have dinner whenever you like.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu (1,400m ) to Dhap Bazaar (2850m).
Your journey begins with a long but scenic drive from the bustling capital of Kathmandu to the quiet mountain town of Dhap Bazaar in the Solu region. Covering approximately 240 kilometers, the drive takes around 8 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions. The route gradually transitions from busy highways to winding mountain roads, offering glimpses of rural Nepalese life, terraced farms, dense forests, and distant hills.
Along the way, you will pass through small towns and villages, with occasional stops for meals and rest. As you ascend, the air becomes crisper and cooler, and the surrounding landscapes grow more serene. Dhap Bazaar, located at an altitude of 2,850 meters, serves as the gateway to the Pikey Peak trail and offers basic lodges, teahouses, and stunning hilltop views to kickstart your trek.
Day 03: Trek from Dhap Bazaar(2,850m) to Jhapre (2,815m).
Today’s trek begins from Dhap Bazaar, a lively village surrounded by terraced fields and rolling hills. The trail ascends gently through rhododendron forests and Sherpa-Tamang villages, offering the first glimpses of the Himalayan peaks. You will reach Jhapre, a quiet village known for its monastery and views of Everest and Numbur Himal. Overnight at a lodge in Jhapre.
Day 04: Trek from Jhapre (2,815m) to Pikey Base Camp (3,640 m).
After a warm village breakfast, you will start the day’s journey by heading uphill from Jhapre. The trail gradually ascends through peaceful stretches of pine and rhododendron forests, where you might hear the calls of Himalayan birds or spot grazing yaks along the meadows. As you gain altitude, the views start opening up—with clear weather, you can enjoy sweeping panoramas of Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and even distant Annapurna ranges.
The air gets thinner but fresh, and the landscape turns more rugged as you approach the serene Pikey Base Camp, tucked just below the iconic Pikey Peak. Surrounded by alpine wilderness, this is a perfect place to rest, acclimatize, and prepare for an early morning summit. At night, the sky often dazzles with stars, making it a magical stop on your trek.
Day 05: Trek from Pikey Base Camp (3,640m) to Pikey Peak (4,065 m) to Jasmane Bhanjyang (3,520 m).
You will start early today well before sunrise to ascend Pikey Peak, the highest point of the trek. The short, steep climb is worth it, as you are rewarded with a spectacular 360° sunrise view over the Himalayas. On a clear morning, you can spot Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and even Annapurna glowing in golden light.
After soaking in the views and taking photos, you’ll begin descending along ridges and forested paths toward Jasmane Bhanjyang. The trail winds through pine forests, open pastures, and quiet yak shelters. Compared to earlier days, the trail is now more peaceful and isolated, making it perfect for enjoying the serene mountain environment. By the time you reach Jasmane Bhanjyang, you will have a deep sense of calm and accomplishment.
Day 06: Trek from Jase Bhanjyang (3,520m) to Junbesi (2,680 m).
Today’s journey takes you downhill from Jasmane Bhanjyang through lush pine and rhododendron forests. The trail gradually descends into the peaceful Tamang village of Junbesi, known for its rich culture and ancient Buddhist monasteries. Along the way, you will enjoy fresh mountain air and stunning views of the surrounding hills, making Junbesi a perfect spot to relax and immerse yourself in local traditions.
Day 07: Trek from Junbesi (2,680 m) to Phaplu (2,380 m).
On this day, you will trek downhill through beautiful forests and farmland, leaving the mountains behind. The trail leads to Phaplu, a small town with an airport that connects you back to Kathmandu. Along the way, you will pass traditional Sherpa villages and enjoy views of the surrounding valleys and hills, making this a relaxing and scenic day.
Day 08: Drive from Phaplu (2,380 m) to Kathmandu (1,400m).
After completing the trek, you will take a scenic drive from Phaplu back to Kathmandu. The journey passes through beautiful rural landscapes, quaint villages, and terraced fields, giving you a final glimpse of the Himalayan foothills. Arriving in Kathmandu, you can relax and enjoy the vibrant city atmosphere after your adventure.
Day 09: Departure to your home.
On the final day of your journey, you will be transferred to Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to do some last-minute shopping or explore the city.
As you leave Nepal, you will take with you unforgettable memories of your incredible trek through the Pikey Peak Trek.

Typical Daily Schedule
Trekking days usually begin between 6:30 to 7:00 AM after a nutritious breakfast. You will hike for 4 to 7 hours daily, depending on the trail section and altitude. Lunch is taken at teahouses or scenic spots on the trail, while evenings are spent resting in local lodges or teahouses. Each day brings opportunities to experience natural beauty, cultural heritage, and serene mountain atmospheres.
Accommodation & Meals
During the trek, accommodation is provided in simple teahouses and lodges, which offer twin rooms and shared bathroom facilities. Meals are freshly prepared Nepali and Tibetan dishes such as dal bhat, momos, thukpa, and yak butter tea. Food is nutritious and suitable for maintaining energy levels during trekking.
