Annapurna Base Camp & Mardi Himal Trek Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (1,400m / 4,593ft) and transfer to the hotel for check-in and rest.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, our friendly team from Himalayan Gateway Trek will be there to greet you with a warm welcome and take you to your hotel.
Once you arrive, you’ll receive a warm welcome, with staff presenting you with traditional flower garlands. They will assist you with the check-in process and make sure you’re comfortable. Afterward, you can relax and get ready for your adventure the next day. In the evening, walk around Thamel and have dinner whenever you like.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu (1,400m/4,593ft) to Pokhara (822m/2,697ft) by Bus.
On the second day, we will take a scenic drive from Kathmandu (1,400 m/4,593 ft) to Pokhara (822m/2,697ft) by tourist bus. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes, rolling hills, rivers, and charming countryside villages. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning views of the Trishuli River and lush green valleys.
Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will have time to explore the beautiful lakeside area, relax by Phewa Lake, or enjoy the city’s vibrant atmosphere before preparing for the trek ahead.
Day 03: Drive from Pokhara (820m / 2723ft) to Dhampus (1640m / 5,380ft) and trek to Deurali (2,100m / 6,889ft)
On third Day After breakfast in Pokhara, we will take a 2-hour drive to Dhampus, a charming village that marks the beginning of our trek. Along the way, we’ll pass through traditional villages inhabited by various ethnic groups, including Brahmins, Magars, and Gurungs, offering a glimpse into local life.
The majestic Annapurna range will serve as a stunning backdrop throughout the journey. From Dhampus, we begin our trek to Deurali, where you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Annapurna South glaciers and the surrounding peaks. Deurali is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the stunning Himalayan scenery.
Day 04: Trek from Deurali (2,100m / 6,889ft) to Forest Camp (2,600m / 8,530ft).
Today, we begin our trek from Deurali and head towards Forest Camp. The trail takes us through lush forests of rhododendron and oak trees, offering a peaceful atmosphere as we ascend.
The path is relatively gentle, making it an enjoyable hike, and along the way, we’ll have glimpses of the majestic peaks of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South. We’ll arrive at Forest Camp in the afternoon, where we can relax and take in the natural beauty surrounding us.
Day 05 : Trek from Forest Camp (2,600m / 8,530ft) to High Camp (3,600m / 11,811ft)
Today you will depart from Forest Camp in the morning, heading towards High Camp. The trail is steep but offers rewarding views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), the Annapurna Base Camp valley, and Mardi Himal. The journey begins through dense forests, which gradually give way to shrubs and pastures as you ascend. Along the way, you’ll pass the Modi Khola (river) valley on your left and the Mardi Khola and Seti river valleys on your right. On clear days, the views stretch all the way to Pokhara, offering breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding landscape.
Day 06: Trek from High Camp (3,600m / 11,811ft) to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m / 14,763ft) to Low Camp (3,050m / 10,006ft)
Today, we will start early to catch the first rays of sunlight hitting the majestic Annapurna range, a breathtaking sight that promises to be a memorable moment. After a hearty breakfast, we continue our trek towards the Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m.
Once at the base camp, you’ll be treated to magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South. It’s a perfect spot to pause, take in the beauty, and snap some photos. After spending time at the base camp, we begin our descent to Low Camp, where we’ll spend the night. The walk down provides a chance to reflect on the incredible journey and enjoy the changing landscapes as we move towards a lower altitude.
Day 07 :Trek from Low Camp (3,050m / 10,006ft) to Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 5,839ft)
After breakfast, we begin our descent, following a path that winds through beautiful forests and takes us past Siding Village. We will also pass the traditional Gurung village of Landruk, known for its unique culture.
Eventually, we arrive at Jhinu Danda, where you’ll have the chance to relax in the natural hot springs. These soothing springs are the perfect way to unwind and ease your tired muscles after a long day of trekking, while also enjoying the serene surroundings and views of the Himalayas.
Day 08:Trek from Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 5,839ft) to Bamboo (2,310m / 7,578ft).
After breakfast, we begin our trek from Jhinu Danda to Bamboo, ascending through lush forests and peaceful villages. The trail offers stunning views and occasional glimpses of the surrounding peaks.
The trek is a bit challenging, but the natural beauty along the way makes it enjoyable. We reach Bamboo in the evening, where we’ll rest and prepare for the next part of our journey.
Day 09: Trek from Bamboo (2,310m / 7,578ft) to Deurali (3,230m / 10,595ft)
The first part of the trek to Mardi Himal is complete, and now we begin the trail to Annapurna Base Camp. Initially, we pass through a dense bamboo forest, which remains cool and damp year-round.
As we continue, the forest gradually thins out, and we reach Himalaya, a high-altitude settlement. From here, you’ll see a glacial river flowing downwards. The trail then becomes dry and arid as we continue to Hinku Cave. After exploring the cave, the path descends to the Modi Khola riverbank before climbing again, leading us to Deurali for the night.
Day 10: Trek from Deurali (3,230m / 10,595ft) to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m / 13,550ft)
Today marks a significant milestone as you reach your dream destination, Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Starting early in the morning, you will trek along trails that offer stunning close-up views of the towering peaks.
On the way, you will pass Machhapuchhre Base Camp while enjoying panoramic views of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and Gangapurna.
After one more hour of climbing, you will finally arrive at Annapurna Base Camp. Surrounded by the majestic peaks of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Singu Chuli, Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna III, and Tent Peak, the views here are nothing short of soul-soothing and incredibly fulfilling, offering an unforgettable experience.
Day 11: Trek from ABC (4,130m / 13,550ft) to Bamboo (2,350m / 7,700ft)
After soaking in the breathtaking views at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), it’s time to begin your descent. The trail follows the Modi River downhill, leading you out of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
As you trek, you will pass through the villages of Dovan and Deurali, retracing your steps through the beautiful landscapes that you experienced earlier in the trek. The descent is peaceful and offers a different perspective of the majestic peaks as you gradually make your way back to Bamboo for the night.
Day 12: Trek from Bamboo (2,350m / 7,700ft) to Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft) and nearby natural hot springs.
Leaving Bamboo, you will trek uphill to reach Khuldighar and then continue to Sinuwa village. From Sinuwa, you will proceed towards Chomrong village. After reaching Chomrong, you’ll climb for about half an hour to Chomrong Ridge before descending down to Jhinu Danda.
Jhinu Danda is known for its natural hot springs, and we’ll take you to relax your tired muscles in these soothing waters after a rewarding day of trekking.
Day 13: Trek from Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft) to Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi (1,150m / 3,770ft) and drive to Pokhara (820m) via Nayapul
Today you will trek from Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft) to Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi (1,150m / 3,770ft) and then drive back to Pokhara (820m) via Nayapul. The trek will take you downhill from Jhinu Danda through the Modi Khola Valley, passing charming villages, terraced farmlands, and both wooden and suspension bridges.
As you descend, the terrain gradually transitions from hilly to flatter plains, with your journey concluding at Nayapul. From there, you will take a scenic bus ride back to Pokhara to relax and unwind after completing this incredible trek.
Day 14: Drive from Pokhara (820m / 2,690ft) to Kathmandu (1,350m / 4,450ft)
It’s time to wrap up the trek. After breakfast, you will board a tourist bus to Kathmandu. The bus ride follows the scenic Marshyangdi River and then the Trishuli River, offering beautiful views of tall mountains, terraced farms, and lush forests along the way. As the bus climbs the final stretch of the Prithvi Highway, you’ll be treated to breathtaking landscapes before returning to Kathmandu, marking the end of your trekking journey. Later in the day, Himalayan Gateway Trekking will host a farewell dinner, where you can reflect on your incredible adventure.
