Langtang and Gosaikunda Lake Trek Itinerary Details
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (1,400m ) and transfer to the hotel for check-in and rest.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, our friendly team from Himalayan Gateway Trek will be there to greet you with a warm welcome and take you to your hotel.
Once you arrive, you’ll receive a warm welcome, with staff presenting you with traditional flower garlands. They will assist you with the check-in process and make sure you’re comfortable. Afterward, you can relax and get ready for your adventure the next day. In the evening, walk around Thamel and have dinner whenever you like.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu(1400m) to Syabrubesi (1520m).
The journey begins with a picturesque drive from the bustling city of Kathmandu to the quiet village of Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek. The drive takes around 7–8 hours and offers an incredible transition from urban chaos to serene hillsides.
Throughout the drive, we are treated to a panoramic view of majestic peaks such as Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the distant Langtang range. Nestled in the lap of the Langtang Himal, Syabrubesi is a charming village with a strong presence of Tamang culture and warm hospitality.
Day 03: Trek from Syabrubesi (1550m) to Lama Hotel ( 2460m).
After breakfast in Syabrubesi, your trek to Ganja La Pass officially begins. First, you’ll walk towards the Bhote Koshi River, which flows down from Tibet. Along the way, you can stop at Guru Rinpoche Gompa, a small monastery where many trekkers say prayers for a safe journey. After crossing a suspension bridge, you’ll start walking uphill through a beautiful forest.
After a few hours of uphill walking, you will arrive at Lama Hotel, a small village surrounded by trees. It’s a peaceful place to rest for the night, with several cozy lodges and teahouses for trekkers.
Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel ( 2,460m) to Langtang Valley (3,440 m).
After breakfast at the Lama Hotel, you will continue walking through the beautiful forest. The trail follows the Langtang River, with gentle uphill climbs and some steeper sections. You will pass small settlements like Rimche and Gumna Chowk, and you might spot yaks grazing along the way. A little further, you will reach Ghodatabela, where you can stop for lunch. There is an army checkpoint post here where your permits may be checked.
Finally, you will arrive at Langtang Village, a peaceful place surrounded by mountains. The village was rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake and now has several teahouses where you can relax and enjoy the views.
Day 05: Trek from Langtang Village( 3450m) to Kyanjin Gompa ( 3870m) & Explore Kyanjng Ri
After a warm breakfast in Langtang Village, you will start your trek toward Kyanjin Gompa, one of the most beautiful and spiritual spots in the Langtang Valley. Along the way, you’ll pass small villages, prayer wheels, chortens (Buddhist shrines), and colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. You’ll also walk by Mundu and Sindum, peaceful villages surrounded by mountain landscapes.
Once you reach Kyanjin Gompa, you will be welcomed by a peaceful village with stunning mountain views. You can explore the ancient monastery, taste fresh yak cheese from the local cheese factory, and rest for the day. This is a great place to relax and get used to the higher altitude.
Day 06: Excursion to Tsergo Ri (4,984 m) and back to Kyangjing.
On this day, you will embark on a challenging but rewarding side trip to Tsergo Ri, one of the highest viewpoints in the Langtang region. The day starts early, as the ascent to 4,984 meters takes about 5–6 hours round trip, depending on pace and acclimatization. The trail begins from Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m), winding through yak pastures and gradually climbing steep, rocky terrain with increasingly breathtaking views.
After spending some time at the top, soaking in the views and capturing photos, you will descend back to Kyanjin Gompa for the night. The descent is quicker but requires caution due to the steep path. This day also greatly helps with acclimatization before heading toward higher elevations later in the trek. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 07: Trek down to Lama Hotel ( 2,460m) stay overnight.
After breakfast at Kyanjin Gompa, you will begin your descent back down the valley toward Lama Hotel. The trail retraces your earlier route through Langtang Village and Ghoda Tabela, offering a new perspective on the landscapes you passed during the ascent. This section of the trek is mostly downhill and takes about 6–7 hours, passing through beautiful forests of rhododendron, pine, and oak.
Although the trail is easier on the lungs, the descent can be hard on the knees, so take your time and use trekking poles if needed. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views of cascading waterfalls, tranquil river crossings, and occasional wildlife sightings. The fresh mountain air and peaceful forest ambiance make this a relaxing yet active day. You will reach Lama Hotel (2,460m) in the late afternoon, a quiet riverside village nestled in the forest, where you will stay overnight in a local teahouse.

Day 08: Trek from Lama Hotel (2450m) to Thulo Syabru(2,230m).
Today’s trek takes you from the peaceful forested setting of Lama Hotel to the traditional village of Thulo Syabru, offering a mix of nature and cultural immersion. The trail initially descends gradually along the Langtang Khola, passing through bamboo groves and dense woodland rich with birdlife and occasional wildlife.
After crossing a suspension bridge, the path climbs steadily through terraced fields and small settlements. The final stretch to Thulo Syabru involves a bit of uphill walking, but the reward is well worth it—Thulo Syabru is a picturesque village perched on a hillside with traditional Tamang houses and stunning views of Ganesh Himal and the Langtang range.
This area is also known for its rich cultural traditions, and you may encounter local monasteries, chortens, and prayer wheels along the way.

Day 09: Trek from Thulo Syabru (2,230m) to Lauribina (3910m).
Today’s trek involves a steady uphill climb through dense pine and rhododendron forests. As you gain altitude, the views open up to stunning mountain panoramas, including Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. A short break at Chandanbari (Sing Gompa) offers a visit to a small cheese factory. The final stretch to Lauribina is steep but rewarding, with peaceful highland scenery and breathtaking sunset views. Overnight at Lauribina.
Day 10: Visit the Gosaikunda (4,380m) and descend to Sing Gompa(3330m).
Start early for a scenic hike to the sacred Gosaikunda Lake (4,380m), passing several smaller alpine lakes along the way. The trail climbs steadily and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Gosaikunda is a revered pilgrimage site, especially during the Janai Purnima festival. After exploring the lake, you will retrace your steps and descend back to Sing Gompa (3,330m) through alpine meadows and forested trails. Overnight at Sing Gompa.
Day 11: Trek down from Sing Gompa(3,330m) to Dhunche (1960m).
Today’s trek is a long descent through dense pine and oak forests, with occasional views of the mountains and surrounding valleys. The trail winds down gradually, passing small settlements and terraced fields before reaching Dhunche, the administrative center of Rasuwa district. It’s the final walking day of your trek and a good place to relax and reflect on your journey. Overnight at Dhunche.
Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu by Local deluxe bus.
After breakfast in Dhunche, you will board a local deluxe bus for the scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes around 6–7 hours, winding through hills, rivers, and traditional villages. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, marking the end of your Langtang and Gosaikunda adventure. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 13:Departure to your home.
On the final day of your journey, you will be transferred to Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to do some last-minute shopping or explore the city.
As you leave Nepal, you will take with you unforgettable memories of your incredible trek through the Langtang and Gosaikunda Lake Trek.
