The best seasons to trek in Nepal are autumn (September–November) and spring (March–May).
Autumn (September–November) – Best Season for Trekking 🍂🏔️
- Weather: Clear skies, moderate temperatures, and stunning mountain views.
- Visibility: Excellent, with crisp air making distant peaks look breathtaking.
- Trails & Crowds: Most popular season, so trails and teahouses can be busy.
- Festivals: Dashain & Tihar, offering a chance to experience Nepalese culture.
Spring (March-May) – Second Best Season 🌸🏕️
- Weather: Warmer temperatures, and pleasant trekking conditions.
- Scenery: Blooming rhododendron forests add vibrant colors to the trails.
- Visibility: Good, though occasional haze at lower altitudes.
- Crowds: Trails are busy but slightly less so than in autumn.
Other Seasons:
- Winter (December–February) ❄️ – Cold at high altitudes but great for lower-altitude treks like Poon Hill.
- Monsoon (June–August) ☔ – Heavy rainfall, leeches, and poor visibility, but ideal for rain-shadow treks like Upper Mustang.
Best Time to Visit Nepal for General Travel
If you’re not trekking, autumn and spring are still the best times for sightseeing, jungle safaris, and cultural experiences.
