Nar Phu Valley (Kang La Pass ) trek lies in Annapurna Conservation area in the Northwest of Nepal.It offers us an extraordinary pristine cultural and scenic experience . It is one of Nepal’s hidden valley.It has only been open for trekkers since 2002. its rugged landscapes and ancient villages bordering on Tibet have lain in peaceful solitude for years from the outside world, few outsiders have explored these virtually untouched villages or climbed the many 7000 meter peaks surrounding them.

Nar Phu Valley Trek starts at Beshisahar and end at Beshisahar as well. This trek provides us an opportunity to trek an extremely remote domain which was opened back on 2002 AD, It offers us magnificent views of Mountain peaks including Annapurna II , Gangapurna,and Tilicho. During this trek you can experience walking in Kang La Pass which is at elevation of 5,306M above sea level. The best time to explore Nar Phu Valley is during Autumn ( September,October & November ) And Spring ( March,April & May ).

Itinerary Detail

Travel Plan: –

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,380 m ) Transfer to Hotel,stay overnight.

On your arrival day in Nepal, “Himalayan Gateway Trek ” representative will pick you from Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to Hotel in Thamel.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Beshisahar (760 m) by Bus,stay overnight. (6 -7 hrs)

Today early in the morning, after breakfast then you will drive to Besishahar from Kathmandu which takes around 6 hrs, the journey is spectacular along the Trishuli and Marshyangdi River. We will pass through some bumpy roads, small villages and local farms along with the Marshyangdi river and overnight in local Guesthouse at Beshisahar.

Day 03: Drive from Beshisahar to Koto (2,600 m) by private jeep,stay overnight. (6-7 hrs)

Today we will drive jeep to Koto through off road.Along the way we will pass many beautiful villages. Koto Village is a point from where we left Annapurna Circuit Trekkig trail and enter Nar Phu Valley trail.
Day 04: Trek from Koto to Meta (3,560 m), stay overnight. (7-8 hrs)
Today after breakfast, the real adventure begins as we enter to restricated area. Along the way we will cross the river and enter the Nar Phu Valley. The trail passes passes under a wide waterfall, from which point the woods become thinner and the vistas wider. Meta Lies on a Plain Land and have few Lodges.

Day 05: Trek from Meta to Phu Village (4,080 m), stay overnight. (7-8 hrs)
After breakfast we will leave meta for Phu Village, along the way we can see the stunning landscape, some of the unique, colorful Tibetan Buddhist chortens that Nar and Phu are famous for begin to appear in sight. The trail meanders along the ridge with a good view of the magnificent Nar Phedi Monastery, where you will stay in a few days’ time. After another ninety minutes hiking through scenic canyons and gorges, you’ll reach a monolith that guards the steep trail up to Phu.

Day 06: Explore around Phu Village.

Today is an acclimatize day, so we will roam around Phu village or we can hike up to Himlung Himal Base Camp (4,900 m). Phu is a beautiful and interesting village that we can spent a day very well observing the local lifestyle. The villagers spin their yak and sheep wools, pound mustard seeds into a paste for oil.
we can also hike to Himlung Himal Base Camp through the glacial valley. Himlung Himal is a peak at 7,125 m above sea level and it was opened recently for climbing. along the way you can see blue Sheep’s and it takes approximately 4-5 hrs.

Day 07: Trek from Phu Village to Nar Phedi (3,490 m), stay overnight. (5-6 hrs)

After breakfast we will leave Phu Village and descend to the river. It takes approximately 5-6 hrs to reach Nar Phedi and today we will stay overnight at Nar Phedi Monastry.

Day 08: Trek from Nar Phedi to Nar Village (4,110 m), stay overnight. (2-3 hrs)

Today we will climb up to Nar village and it takes approximtely 3 hrs. After we reach at Nar Village we can roam aroung Nar village, take rest and save enerrgy for next day Kang La Pass.

Day 09: Trek from Nar Village to Kang La Pass (5,306 m) to Ngawal (3,660 m), stay overnight. (10 -11 hrs)
Today is the challenging day of our trek as we are going to cross Kangla Pass (5,306 m). we should leave Nar village early in the morning and it takes approximately 10 hrs to complete this pass to Ngawal Village.Kang La Pass (5,306 m) offers us spectacular view of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, the Tilicho peak, and the peaks surrounding Tilicho, the Marsyngdi valley, and the Hunde airport. There are no tea house so today we will prepare pack lunch for you.

Day 10: Trek from Ngawal to Dhukur Pokhari (3,060 m) , stay overnight.(6-7 hrs)
Today after breakfast we trek down to Dhukur Pokhari via Ghyaru and Pisang . it takes aroud 6-7 hrs. stay overnight at lodge.

Day 11: Drive from Dhukur Pokhari to Beshisahar (760 m), stay overnight. (5-6 hrs)
After breakfast we will drive back to Beshisahar by private jeep,it takes approximately 6 hrs.

Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu by Bus,stay overnight. (6-7 hrs)

Today we will drive back to Kathmandu by Local bus, it takes approximately 7 hrs.

Day 13: Departure to your home.
Today we will drop you at Tribhuwan International Airport before 3 hrs of your Flight.

Nepal visa

Tourist who intends to visit Nepal must hold a valid passport and visa.

You may get your tourist visa in your home country or on arrival. We recommend you to get your tourist visa on arrival as it is very easy. To get your visa on arrival, you must have a valid passport and 2 passport sized photo with a light background.
