Khopra Danda Trek

Khopra Danda Trek is newly opened trek route in Annapurna Region. This Trek offers us Magnificent view of Mt. Fishtail,Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Hiuchuli, Gangapurna, Tukuche Peak, Dhampus peak including World’s Seventh highest peak Mount. Dhaulagiri.During this trek, we will pass rural villages, rice fields and Rhododendron forest.If we are lucky we can see Himalayan wildlife such as Himalayan Thar,Pheasants and Yaks. we will also get a chance to visit Holy Khayer Lake.It is at the elevation of 4,600 m .It is also called Khayer Baraha . All Devoter’s gather together on the top of Ridge on the month of March-April and July-August . The locals slain the yak and drink the blood while it is hot, they believe that it’s the perfect cure for any kind of illness and they also believe that they will receive everything they pray for. Specially the married barren women come to ask for fertility of their wombs .This trek also offers us a chance to visit Ghorepani poonhill (3,210 m).

Our Journey Begins from Kathmandu to Pokahara and trek through Ghandruk ,and continue trekking to Tadapani village through the forest of Rhododendron,Oak and Pine. It is unique and new trekking trail so you will see only few trekkers throughout the journey.

Itinerary Detail

Travel Plan:-

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu (1,385 m) and Transfer to Hotel.

We heartily welcome you to Nepal. Upon your arrival, our representitive will be waiting you at main gate of Tribhuban International Airport, greets you with great reverence and transfer you to the hotel in Thamel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m) by Tourist Bus.

Everyday Tourist bus leaves kathmandu for Pokhara at 7 Am. It takes 6-7 hrs to reach Pokhara. Along the way it gives un scencic pleasure of terraced farmland and countryside. You can enjoy night city tour in Pokhara and lake side of Pokhara on the beach of fantastic Fewa Lake. Overnight at Lakeside Pokhara.

Day 03: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (2,012 m) .

After having breakfast around 7 Am we will drive to Nayapul by private car, then our real hiking begins. we will trek through the small village , Syauli Bazar and Kimche then trek up steps to beautiful village of Ghandruk . A village with beautiful mountain view’s Called homeland of Great Gurkha’s and rich in Gurung Culture. Overnight at a Guest House in Ghandruk.

Day 04: Trek from Ghandruk to Tadapani ( 2,510 m) .

After breakfast we leave ghandruk for Beautiful Vilage Tadapani through the Rhododendron and Oak forest.It takes approximately 4 Hrs to Reach Tadapani. On the way we will pass the place called Bhaisi Kharka (Buffalo Grassing Place ) . And we will see magnificient view of Mt. Fishtail (6,993 m) , Annapurna ii (7,937 m) , Annapurna South (7,219 m) and Lamjung Himal (6,983 m). Overnight at Tadapani.

Day 05: Trek from Tadapani  to Bayeli Kharka (3,450 m) .

After Breakfast, we will walk through the Rhododendron forest then after 4-5 hours of gradual climb we will stop for Lunch at Dobato with the beautiful view of Annapurna and Machhapuchre .Then again we will walk through the Rhododendronand forest to reach Bayeli Kharka .From the Lodge we will encounter the incredible view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) which is seventh highest Mountain in the World.

Day 06: Trek from Bayeli Kharka to Khopra Danda (3,660 m) .

From Bayeli Kharaka we will descend through the Rhododendron forest around 4 Hrs to reach Upper Chistabung ( , where we will have our lunch then we will accend and 2 and half hour to reach Khopra Danda. Along the way you might see Himalayan Thar & Danfe . Once we reach Khopra Dada we will see the magnificient views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) , Annapurna South (7,219 m) , Mt. hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7,061 m) , Dhampus Peak (6,012 m) And Tukuche Peak (6,920 m) .Overnight at Community Lodge

Day 07: Trek to Khayer Lake (4,600 m) and back to Khopra Danda.

From Khopra Dada it takes approximately 5 hrs to reach Khayer Lake which is at the elevation of 4,600 m .It is also called Khayer Baraha . All Devoters gather together on the top of Ridge on the month of March-April and July-August . The locals slain the yak and drink the blood while it is hot, they believe that it’s the perfect cure for any kind of illness and they also believe that they will receive everything they pray for. Specially the married barren women come to ask for fertility of their wombs. .we will walk through the steepy trails with the beautiful Mountains view. After visiting lake we will back to the Hotel, and take rest.
Those who do not want to visit Lake can stay at Hotel. Overnight at Community Lodge.

Day 08: Trek from Khopra Danda to Swanta (2,214 m) .

After Breakfast we will leave Khopra Danda for beautiful village Swanta . The trail slightly goes downhill through the Rhododendron forest .We will pass small streams and Suspension bridge’s. Overnight at Swanta

Day 09: Trek from Swanta to Ghorepani (2,880 m) .

After Breakfast we will walk gradually downhill through the fields until the small river. We wil cross the suspension bridge and ascend to Chitre Village where we will have our lunch and trek uphill to Ghorepani .We can see beautiful view of Mountain from our Hotel. If you are interested you can hikr up to Poonhill for Sunset view which is increadibly beautiful. Overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 10: Early Morning hike  to Poonhill (3,210 m) then trek to Birethati 1,039 m) and drive back to Pokhara.

This Morning we will start our hiking 1 hrs before sunrise because Poonhill is one of the beautiful view point. There is one Tea shop at Poonhill . You can enjoy your tea/Coffee with the beautiful view of Mt. Fishtail (6,993 m), Mt.Gangapurna (7,455 m) , Mt.Hiunchuli (6,441m), Mt. Nilgiri (7,061 m) , Mt. Annapurna South (7,219 m), Tukuche Peak (6,920 m) , Dhampus Peak (6,012 m) and Mt.Dhaulagiri (8,167 m). After spending quality time there we will be back to our Hotel and have breakfast then we will descend to Birethati through Rhodedendron forest and small villages. And we will take private jeep to Pokhara. Overnight at Lakeside Pokhara.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,385 m) by Tourist Bus.

After Breakfast we will leave hotel for Tourist Bus Park and take bus to Pokhara. Everyday Tourist bus leaves at 7 Am. Once we reach to Kathmandu we will take you to Typical Nepali Restaurant for Farewell Dinner. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12: Departure to your Home.

Its time to Good Bye , Today we will drop you to the Airport before 3 hrs of your flight .

Nepal visa

Tourist who intends to visit Nepal must hold a valid passport and visa.

You may get your tourist visa in your home country or on arrival. We recommend you to get your tourist visa on arrival as it is very easy. To get your visa on arrival, you must have a valid passport and 2 passport sized photo with a light background.

Tourist Visa fee for visitors who enter Nepal for the first time in a visa year, from January to December:

Tourist visa extension facility:

Himalayan Gateway Trek  usually books hotel accommodation for you in cities on  Bed and Breakfast basis as your requirements. During your trek you can stay in a local tea house or camp. It depends on your wishes. While you are on a tea house trek, Himalayan Gateway Trek  invites you to choose the food you like for your breakfast, lunch and dinner from the menu. Our experienced guide will help with selecting and ensure that you get hygienically prepared, plentiful and healthy food. Most tea houses offer a variety of rice and noodle dishes, as well as seasonal vegetables.
